Water Chemistry 101: Keep It Clean
Back to blog
Free chlorine 2–4 ppm, pH 7.4–7.6, total alkalinity 80–120, calcium hardness 200–400, cyanuric acid 30–50. If those five hold, the water stays clear and the surface stays protected.
Test twice weekly in summer, weekly in winter. Adjust one variable at a time — chasing multiple chemicals at once is how pools turn cloudy.
